Wooden table, bananas
118cm x 75cm x 80cm
Dozens of rotting bananas hang from the underside of a table producing an overwhelming overripe smell that permeates every square centimeter of the exhibition space. The piece expands while collapsing. The table, a disused domestic object, frames the active organic matter as though a particular logic system o structure could stabilize or even prevent the natural process of decay. The two elements occupy the same space but not the same time.
