Pa, short for padre (father), is a small-scale sculpture made with single length of wire upon which several steel dust covered magnets have been placed. Steel, a material often associated with strength and masculinity is utilized here in dust form and is held together by a tenuous force. This piece is a visual poem that explores family history, subverts hierarchies within a family structure, childhood memories and illness.
